Harry Kane has been unable to get the ball into the net in the 3 matches that he has appeared in so far in the Premier League 2015-16, but, his boss Mauricio Pochettino is not concerned.
As per Pochettino, Kane is putting a lot in his preparations and it will not take long before he starts reaping the rewards of his hard work.
However, Pochettino is quite gutted about the fact that the Spurs couldn’t maintain their lead against two comparatively weaker teams that they played on 15th and 22nd respectively i.e. Stoke City and Leicester City.
While it could easily have been two wins and 6 points for them from those two games, it turned out to be two draws and two points.
Tottenham had actually had a lead of 2-0 in the Stoke game, but, out of the blue, they conceded two back to back goals in a space of 5 minutes in the latter parts of the second half and what was looking like a certain victory for them ended up in a draw.
Interacting with the media yesterday, Pochettino said, “We have been very close to the level we want to be at, but, we haven’t finished the job clinically. We blew away the advantage that we had both against Stoke and Leicester. That’s real shame. But, we have to look ahead.”
When asked about Kane, the Argentinean manager said, “He has been preparing well and I have no doubt that he will be amongst the goals very soon. It, sometimes, happens that you have a run where the goals just don’t come no matter what you do. So, it’s been that kind of phase for him, but, he is a class player and I believe we are not that far of seeing a match winning performance off him.”
