This Premier League season of Manchester United kicked off in an abysmal manner as United lost its opening match of their campaign by losing against Swansea City and their next 2 matches ended in draws when playing with Sunderland and Burnley.
When Louis van Gaal was appointed, he had a tough job to do as the Dutch coach was selected in order to re-construct a team that had crumbled to pieces under the guidance of David Moyes and this slow start of the season did not help this process.
The rocky road continued on with disappointing results when playing against Leicester City as United lost 5-3 but things have now started to take shape as Manchester United have slowly been climbing spots in the Premier League and after 14 matches which have been played in the league, United is now located at the 4th spot with 25 points.
The light at the end of the tunnel is finally starting to be seen not only by the players of the club that have been performing much better than at the beginning of the season but it’s also been seen by the supporters of the club as they are excited to see their team finally playing at a high level.
Things will get even better for Manchester United as it has now been officially revealed that Louis van Gaal is going to be allowed to spend upwards of £100 million during the January transfer window in order for him to try and sign his desired winter targets.
Some of the targets that Louis van Gaal wants to add to his team are: Kevin Strootman, Diego Godin, Mats Hummels and Nathaniel Clyne. Most of these players are defenders as Manchester United has been very vulnerable in the defensive department of the team and will try to reinforce it by adding highly rated defenders.
Louis van Gaal could also take the chance to use the January transfer window as a moment to offload some of his players that aren’t playing and will not be playing an important role in his plans and this is the case of Luis Nani and Javier Hernandez.
